Mel Gibsonlong -awaited The Passion of Christ Sequel, entitled The resurrection of ChristHe is going forward and is about to start shooting in August at the Studios kinemaches in Rome. The new was announced by CEO Manuela Cacciamani.
Jim Caviezel He is expected to return to play Jesus in the film, while Maia Morgenstern, who played the mother of Jesus in “The Passion” and Francesco De Vito, who played Peter, are also on board.
Gibson previously spoke of the sequel that called him “an acid journey” that continued saying that he had never read anything like that “to the script, which Gibson was writing together with Randall Wallace.
He continued to offer some details: “My brother and Randall I all gathered on this. So there are some good witnesses put together, but there are some crazy things.
“And I think that to really tell the story you really have to start with the fall of the angels, which means that you are in another place, you are in another kingdom. You have to go to Hell. You have to go to Sheol.”
Gibson said he intends to report Jim Caviezel to the role of Jesus. Gibson said he would need to incorporate “some techniques” such as the CGI de-Invece on Caviezel since more than 20 years have passed since the first film.
Gibson described the film as “very ambitious” and said that the story not only covers “The Fall of the Angels”, but also “the death of the last apostle”.
He said: “It is about finding the way that is not in bad taste or too obvious. I think I have ideas on how to do it and how to evoke things and emotions in people from the way you describe it and the way you shoot it.
“So I have thought about it for a long time. It will not be easy and will require much planning and I’m not entirely sure that I can do it to tell you the truth, it is super ambitious.
“But I’ll take a crack because that’s what you need to do, right, walk to the plate, right?”
Gibson previously spoke of the film saying that it is “not a linear narrative”, adding that “you have to justify the central event that I am trying to say with everything else around it in the future, in the past and in other kingdoms, and this is a little science fiction out there”.
