John Travolta recites in ORCA Survival Thriller Black Tides for director Renny Harlin

Actor John Travolta (pulp Fiction) signed to act in the orca survival thriller Tides blackby the director Renny Harlin (Cliffhanger, Dying hard 2) and writers Chris Sparling (Buried) AND Ángel Agudo (First video’s Apocalypse Z).

Travolta will take on the main role of Bill Pierce, a foreign father whose attempt to reconnect with his daughter and his nephew transforms himself into a heartbreaking battle for survival when their boat is attacked by rogue officers off the southern coast of Spain.

The film, which should shoot at the end of the summer, will be “shot the old school, with car effects and real water work”. The Solution Entertainment Group is managing sales all over the world excluding Spain in the Cannes market.

Renny Harlin said he was working with overwhelming:

“John Travolta brings the perfect combination of determination, depth, vulnerability and charisma to the character of Bill Pierce, the foreign father, who painfully captures the tragedies of family dynamics.

“I can’t wait to show fans of big screen cinema how the presence and physicality of his cinema star will add gravity to the epic action sequences and the deeply emotional personal drama.
