Jon Bernhal He is putting his heart in The punisher and the Marvel special presentation project that is developing. At the Cinemacon 2025, Bernhal gave fans a promising update on the project, confirming that the work is well started and that he is bringing together a creative power team to make it.
“I said it a million times: Frank is in my bones, he’s in my heart. I keep it to him,” Bernhal said to Collider. “In discussing what this thing could be and of this type of version of Frank so he really felt that the audience was hungry, that the military community was hungry for this, the first rescue community, the fans of the comics, were really hungry. I presented that version to them and encouraged me. They encouraged me to continue at the table”.
Bernhal’s opinion on Frank Castle hit the screen for the first time during the Netflix Defenders saga, where his intense and well -founded representation was a success with the public. And now, with his return around Daredevil: born againMarvel is giving the punisher again its spotlight, this time with a special autonomous special.
What kind of history can expect fans are still kept under the compresses, but Brad Winderbaum of the Marvel Television has offered a cryptic but exciting teasing: “It is like an explosion of hunting rifles of a story, but it also has all the pathos and the emotion you want out of a story of Frank Castle. It is so exciting.”
Behind the scenes, Bernhal is clearly ensuring that history obtains the care and authenticity it deserves, especially for the communities that have always experienced a profound connection to the character.
“While we talked to several writers, the ideas we were inventing with have started to resonate and I think they saw how much they resonated with me,” said Bernhal.
“I have a big group of veterinarians with whom I work. One in particular, my friend Nick was just incredible. I hope it is fine. I don’t like to talk about these things because it’s a little bark before there is a bite, you know? I am honored and I’m grateful. It is an incredible group of people we are gathering.”
For Bernthal, this is a project of personal passion and for Frank Castle’s fans, it is exactly what we want to hear.
