More than a decade has passed since then Richard Raaphorst Last he joined the camera, unleashing his pit cult of Bonkers Frankenstein’s army In 2013
His next project is a Horror Folk film entitled Children of the moorWhich will be launched on the Frontières platform at the Marceé Du film in Cannes.
The Log line is disturbing in a slow shot way: a family moved to a remote farm to start again. But their teenager daughter stumbles in a dark past – the spirits of murdered children are still persistent – and while the history of the earth begins to emerge, the mental health of her father begins to demolish.
Raiphorst describes the film as “Horror Folk Horror meets a home renewal show”. It is an interesting combination, but it is sure to give us an experience in strata of gender. Think of HGTV, but with ghosts and psychological failures.
The project is being developed by the Creative Collective of Raiphorst, The Mad Scientists, in collaboration with the 52 films based in the United Kingdom. Screenwriter Adam Parkwhich also leads 52 films, is writing the script.
Filming is scheduled for the spring of 2026 and the team is currently on the hunt for co -producers, a sales agent and perhaps a third European partner to complete the financing puzzle.
Visually, Raiphorst is trying to rotate from the ramshackle and grotesque aesthetic of Frankenstein’s army towards something more rooted and disturbing:
“I want to underline the beauty of nature … make it almost romantic while everything goes wrong on the farm. That contrast can be incredibly frightening.” It also indicates Italian horror masters such as Dario Argento By inspiration, admiring their “poetic but gruesome” approach to terror.
Children of the moor It looks like the type of disturbing and slow horror story that I will have fun watching.
