Prey director Dan Trachtenberg has returned with another great swing al Predator The franchise, and this time, is completely launching the script. In a recent chat with bloody disgusting, Trachtenberg opened Predator: BadlandsGiving fans a better idea of what to expect from this new wild chapter.
For the first time ever in the series, the main character is a predator. We will follow Dek, a “runt” exiled from his clan, while sailing on survival and redemption. Dek is brought to life through a costume and motion-capture performance from Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamaangi.
Trachtenberg explained:
“One of the interesting things of the film is that we are on Yautja Prime: there is a lot in this film with the extensive universe. We decided to treat madly [the language] properly as [Elvish] For the Lord of the Rings or [Dothraki] For Game of Thrones, except those who are most previous. “
I love the fact that this film will be complete with a completely enriched Yautja language. Trachtenberg and his team are not punched when it comes to the construction of the world.
Dek’s journey becomes even more interesting when he crosses the paths with Thia, played by Elle Fanning. The trailer has hinted that it was not just a blocked human, and now it is official that it is a Synth Weyland-Yutani. Trachtenberg continued:
“As far as I am from the films, I was very inspired by video games [like] Shadow of the Colossus, where you have a protagonist combined with someone else who provides color and connection.
“There is something with a horse in the shade of the giant who is devastating when you play. And so [Predator: Badlands] It was a bit inspired by this in terms of wanting to see the predator with someone else, this character who is the opposite of him.
“It is very laconic, [Fanning] It is not. He is capable in ways that is not. Physically, it has a real thing that I am so excited for you guys. But I want to leave in the end a little about this I speak alone. “
It turns out, Fanning’s work does not stop at one synth. He is playing a double role as “sisters” twins.
Trachtenberg made something very clear before signing: Badlands It is not here to start again what happened before.
“It’s a big and crazy swing, and I think it’s what pushes the butts into seats. If you want the same predator’s old experience, you can hit the game on Predator or prey or any other, whatever your choice.”
Predator: Badlands It promises to be something completely new, partly surviving alien, partly Synth Buddy Adventure and completely unpredictable. What is honestly? It seems exactly the type of risk that franchise needs.
Predator: Badlands It is “set in the future on a remote planet, in which a young predator (Schuster-Koloamatangi), marginalized by his clan, finds an unlikely ally in Thia (Fanning) and embarks on an insidious journey in search of the maximum opponent.”
Predator: Badlands Opens in cinemas on November 7th.
