There is something hypnotic in looking at someone completely in the area, especially when that area seems to be one of the most dangerous mountain roads in the world.
A new video of the BBC Earth explores captures a stunning look at the Peruvian Glorious driver veteran who calmly maneuver a huge passenger bus through the thin cliffs and the strong paths of the Andes.
This is not a panoramic guide for Instagram likes. It is a survival path, in which a wrong move means a pure drop in oblivion. But for glorious, who has made this journey for over 12 years, it’s just another day at work.
“Driving here in the Andes. You have to keep calm. You have to be strong. It’s a little difficult,” explains glorious in the video.
Looking at the video, the bus has a thumb around the corners that barely adapt to the wheels and next to the cliffs with only centimeters to lose. While I wish I would embrace him all the time, the passengers seem totally crazy.
As the glorious passengers will say, there is a saying around here: “It is better to get a little late in this world … than at the beginning of the next.”
