The first trailer for The naked gun The restart has just fallen, and it is exactly unbridled as you would expect it to be, complete with Liam Neeson In Brief Potis and a schoolgirl outfit. Yes, this is real.
This new interpretation of the classic absurdist comic series sees Neeson’s play as Frank Drebin Jr., son of the iconic detective bumbling made famous by Leslie Nielsen. And while the witness is clearly overcome, the spirit of the original remains intact: it is strong, ridiculous and full of gloriously stupid gags.
A moment you are watching a stall tense during a bank robbery and next, a girl with a huge lick -lecca that crosses to face chaos.
“What do you want, little?” He asks for a villain who brandishes the machine gun. “Your ass,” replies the girl, who then pulls out a mask to reveal Liam Neeson below. The Lecca stick -oversize is transformed into a Shiv. The chaos follows.
It is a moment that perfectly summarizes the tone of the film: wildly exaggerated, consciously stupid and proud. That relentless energy is guided by The solitary island Akiva Schaffer, who directs, with Family boy Creator Seth MacFarlane AND Erica Huggins produce.
Orignal films are loved for their slapless slap, a crazy fire and total contempt for logic. Based on what we have seen so far, the restart is faithful to that inheritance, up to a joke of Oj Simpson.
