The latest of us showrunners says that a season of season 2 with Bella Ramsey and Pedro Pascal was “rather spectacular”

The last of us Season 2 has not yet come out, and it is already giving us a hand in the emotional intestine, at least according to showrunner Craig Mazin. During a recent press conference, Mazin reflected on a key scene of the next season that holds a special place in his heart, one that fans of The last part of us II Recognize immediately.

Mazin said: “I mean, this is not a spoiler … in the trailer, you see Pedro and beautiful both from the space capsule in the museum, and that scene is the first thing that [co-showrunner Neil Druckmann] He ever showed me from part 2.

“It is beautiful and looking at them in a certain sense to live and make it they were rather spectacular. Spectacular enough, good enough.”

If you have played the game, you already know the moment of the museum she is talking about. It is the flashback in which Joel surprises Ellie with a birthday journey at the Wyoming Museum of Science and History.

What begins like a charming exploration of Dusty Dinosaur Display turns into something intimate and cosmic when the two approach an old space capsule. Joel gives Ellie a recording of a space launch and tells her to close her eyes.

Listen, imagine the take-off and look at this perfect father-child moment to take place that is quiet and joyful.

Mazin’s praise was not limited to the scene itself. He highlighted in particular Ramsey and Pascal for the way they entered that emotional space: “Looking them in a sense inhabiting him and making him were rather spectacular”.

Pascal was also emotionally influenced by filming, saying: “My mentality was grateful to be back, yet, at the same time, this experience, more than any other I have ever had, is difficult for me to separate what the characters are going through and how it makes me feel very healthy.”

This is one of the things I love of this story about it holds you a close socket while you live it. And if Mazin and Pascal are already so emotionally destroyed, it could be the time for the rest of us to stock up on fabrics.

The last of us Season 2 hits HBO on April 13th.
