The first trailer was released for the next Xyz Film Horror movie The ritualwhich stars Al Pacino (The devil’s lawyer) AND Dan Stevens (Cuckoo, Abigail).
The film is said to be “based on a true story”. The story “follows two priests – one who questioned his faith (Stevens) and one who has dealt with a troubled past (Pacino) – who must put aside their differences to save a young woman possessed through a difficult and dangerous series of exorcisms.”
The ritual is described as “an authentic representation of Emma Schmidt, an American woman whose demonic possession has culminated in excruciating exorcisms. Her case remains the most completely documented exorcism in American history”.
Xyz’s partners said: “The aesthetic founded on the rooted by David Midell is terrifying, authentic and leaves you incredibly uncomfortable that these events actually took place”.
I hope the film is good and do something different and unique, but most of the exorcism films are practically the same. If you saw one, you have seen them all.
David Midell He directs the film from a script written by Enrico Nataleand also the stars Ashley Greene (THE Dusk franchise).
The ritual It will be released in cinemas on April 18, 2025.
