The showrunner of the God of War Ronald D. Moore series states that Amazon has orthred two seasons

Amazon is completely invested in God of war. The imminent live-action adaptation of the beloved PlayStation franchise of Santa Monica Studio was given an order of two seasons.

Showrunner Ronald D. Moore (Battlestar Galactica, Star Trek: The Next Generation) confirmed the news in a recent interview with Katee Sackhoffsaying:

“At this moment, I’m working on an adaptation of, there is a video game called God of warA great title in the world of games that Amazon ordered two seasons and asked me to enter. “

For fans of the franchise, this is an important vote of trusted by Amazon. Moore was not the original showrunner for God of war. Rafe Judkins (The wheel of time) was initially attached to supervise the series, together with the executive producers Hawk Ostby AND Mark Fergus (Children of men, Iron Man).

But all the project came out last year, giving way to Moore to take charge and start from scratch. Santa Monica Studio’s Cory Barlog AND Yumi Yang Remain involved as executive producers, ensuring that the adaptation remains faithful to the spirit of the game.

Although Moore is an electric power plant in science fiction and fantasy television, he admits that he is not a great player. He has a love for the classic arcade of the old school like Defender, asteroidsAND CentipedeBut when it came to God of warHe fought:

“I took a stab with the game, but I could not understand how to work the controllers and I was confused on the position of the R1 button.”

It is not exactly a suspension that sounds his game skills, but narration is what matters most. And with his experience that elaborates complex characters and expansive worlds he could be the right person to bring Kratos to life’s brutal and emotional life.

This is not the first time that Amazon delights God of war content. The IP previously appeared in Secret levela series of animated anthologies that briefly presented Kratos together with other game icons such as Pac-man AND Honor of the kings. But a full adaptation? It is a completely different beast.

Amazon previously described their vision for adaptation: “The series follows Kratos, the god of war, who, after hesitated by his past imbued with blood in ancient Greece, hangs his weapons forever in the Norse Kingdom of Midgard.
