The International Association of Cinematographers, IATSE Local 600, will host a two-panel discussion to explore film location security and sustainability at the Cine Gear Expo on Saturday. Held at the Los Angeles Convention Center, the Expo will take place June 9-12 and features a wide variety of talks, exhibits, and masterclasses on the latest technologies, workflow software, ancillary equipment, and support services for the entertainment industry.
The Guild’s National Executive Director, Rebecca Rain, will attend the “Creating a Culture of Safety on the Site” panel, which will begin at 10:15 PM. Patrick Cady, Director of Imagery, and Michael Chamblis, Moderator, Rep. Business Guild member and production technologist.

Videos produced by the Guild Security Committee will also be shown on firearm safety, unsafe working hours, and body-worn cameras from moving vehicles. A gun threat was tragically posed on set when Halina Hutchins was accidentally shot dead at the Rust Shooting Range last October, while director Joel Souza was also injured. The second panel, Sustainable Production: The Road to Zero Clean Climate Impact, examines the impact of green initiatives, emerging technologies, information resources and practical steps that can be taken to move the industry to a clean climate. in a more sustainable direction.
Organized by the Guild and its Greens Committee, the event will take place on Saturday from 16:00 to 17:00. Panelists are Diana Pokorn, producer and member of the American Green Production Steering Group’s Producers Guild; Director of Photography Jendra Jarnagin and Lucas Film Director of Sustainable Production Adrien Pfeiffer. Chambliss will also moderate this panel.
