Akiva Goldsman and Legendary TV are reviving the classic science fiction series of Irwin Allen

Irwin AllenThe classic science fiction adventures will return a return thanks to the legendary television, with the writer and producer winner of the Oscar Akiva Goldsman (I am legend, marginal, Star Trek: Picard, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds) at the helm.

They will develop fresh new Allen’s most iconic TV series: Journey to the bottom of the sea, Land of the giantsAND The time tunnel.

Goldsman and legendary are approaching these restarted with a “unified vision”, with the aim of modernizing the timeless charm of these shows while drawing on the success of the narrative he had Star Trek.

For those who are not familiar with Allen’s work, these series have defined television science fiction of the 60s:

Journey to the bottom of the sea (1964-1968): a high-tech submarine, Laview, embarks on missions of deep water to discover mysteries under the ocean, although the crew often finds more dangers than answers.

Land of the giants (1968-1970): a crash-terma spaceship on a planet in which everything, including its human inhabitants, is twelve times larger than life.

The time tunnel (1966-1967): two scientists, captured in the vortex of a travel experiment in secret time, are jumping through the fundamental moments of history.

Allen was nicknamed the “disaster master” for his large -scale productions and also created Lost in spacewhich has been successfully restarted by Netflix in recent years.

His work has left a lasting mark on science fiction and now, with Goldsman and legendary who breathe new life in these series, fans can expect an updated narrative that honors the originals as they embrace modern sensitivity.
