Roberto “Bob” Gaston Orci, the writer and producer behind some of the greatest science fiction and adventure of action of the last two decades, died at the age of 51. Orci died in his home in Los Angeles on February 25 after a battle with renal disease.
Born in Mexico City, Orci moved to the United States when he was 10 years old. He started writing and producing Hollywood Xena: Warrior Princess AND Hercules: The Legendary JourneysBut his career took off when he collaborated Alex Kurtzman.
Together, the duo has become one of the most sought after creative teams in successful cinema and television.
Orci co-sche and produced 2009 Star Trek restart and its sequels, as well as Transformers (2007) e Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (2009). His filmography also includes Mission: Impossible III, Zorro’s legend, Now you see me, Eagle Eye, The proposal, The mummyAND The Amazing Spider-Man 2which also co-scored.
As for his television credits, Co-Creato Fringe AND Sleepy Hollowproduct Hawaii five-0and worked Alias AND Scorpio. Even after having separated it from Kurtzman in 2016, Orci continued to pursue projects, launching a rubber room, a production company led by the writers.
His brother, Jr Orci, remembered him as “a visionary narrator with a boundless heart and a beauul”. He added: “But beyond his creative talents, he was a compassionate friend who would have put his life waiting to help a stranger and find space in his house for the puppy most neglected at the refuge”.
Orci was open on his struggles with alcoholism and his way to recovery. Survived his father, Roberto Orci Sr.; Her mother, macuqui-robou-gorcia; his stepmother, Jeanine Orci; His brothers, Jr Orci, Taylor Orci and Courtney Ford; And his dog, Bogey.
At the time of his disappearance, Orci and his foreign wife, the actress Adele Heather Taylor, were in legal disputes, each accusing the other of assaults and abuses.
Despite the personal challenges in his last years, Orci has left behind a strong legacy of fun projects that involved a narrative led by shows and modeling franchises.
