Cobra Kai He may have kicked his last roundhouse with the series now has ended, but not expecting the Karate Kid Universe to stay for a long time.
With the massive success of the show, from its humble beginnings on YouTube Red to become an Netflix power plant, the spin-off projects look like a child game, and according to the creators of the show, an idea that has already been floated involves involves the Duo-Favorite of Hawk fans (Jacob Bertrand) and Demetri (Gianni decenzo).
In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, co-creators Josh Heald, Jon HurwitzAND Hayden Schlossberg Open at the end of the series and where things could go later. When they had a concept of continuing the journey of Hawk and Demetri as they head towards Caltech, the team’s response was surprising.
Heald made fun of: “It could be something we have already talked about or not.” Hurwitz added: “There may actually be a document, a very in -depth document, which says what you just said.”
The tone states: “This comedy of action follows Hawk and Demetri while navigating in the university life in Caltech, work on fantastic robotics projects and occasionally kicks a karate kick. Think Real genius it meets Cobra Kai. “
So, not only this idea has been discussed, it seems that there is already a project for this.
A series of spin -Off Hawk and Demetri would mark a change of tone, leaning more on the comedy with a background of college. It could be perfect for the Cobra Kai Write teams, given their experience with irreverent humor in projects such as Harold & Kumar AND American pie.
It also makes sense from the point of view of fans as Hawk has long been one of the most popular characters of the show and combining it with the dry argument of Demetri could create a fun dynamic of the comedy friend.
While Cobra Kai He has always mixed comedies, drama and action, a university environment does not naturally lend himself to Showdown Dojo. Of course, the show could give some fraternity combat, but do you know what? Moving from the martial arts element could work for a concept like this. Sometimes karate is not life.
I would be ready for a series like this. I think it could be very fun! These are a couple of funny characters who have a great dynamic and could work!
The creators also made fun of the spins -Off for a young Miyagi series and a project focused on Sensei Raymond “Stingray” Porter (Paul Walter Hauser);
For now, no Cobra Kai Spin -offs are officially illuminated. But given the success of Cobra KaiDon’t be surprised if we see a spin -Off or two who continue the stories of some characters in the series.
