I think Marvel’s Captain America: Brave New World It is a rather disordered MCU movie. I also saw it a second time because I was told that it was better the second time, but no … it was worse.
The film looks like a monster of reshoots, changes and seams of the last minute Frankenstein. The scenes are full of sobs of continuity, the characters appear isolated from the main plot, the haircuts continue to change the one -minute scene on the other hand, the one -minute characters were in physical form that they have great bellies and some interesting changes of costume arrive With a zero explanation.
Then there is Liv TylerThe return as Betty Ross. Betty has a crucial role in the emotional arch of the film, in particular in relation to his father, Thaddeus Ross (Harrison Ford). The story underlines their foreign relationship, with Ross who struggles to reconcile personal and presidential duties while dealing with his transformation into Red Hulk.
Yet, despite the weight of this dynamic, Betty is barely in the film, it appears only in two main scenes, which include a short phone call before the climatic battle and a visit to the father imprisoned at the Zattera.
Both scenes feel … out. In the phone call, Betty’s dialogue is very minimal, short and vague answers while Ford Ross brings the entire conversation. Then there is the prison scene, in which Betty is strangely obscured.
It is illuminated in the heavy shadow, shown only by the chest and often framed just out of attention. His presence seems so strangely managed that many spectators have hypothesized that Marvel has never had Tyler on the set with his co-protagonists.
But according to a Disney spokesman who speaks with Ign, that’s not the case. The confirmed: “Tyler provided the voiceover for the phone scene”, clarify that his lines were not generated to the old shots.
They also insisted on the fact that Tyler was physically on the set with both Anthony Mackie And Harrison Ford for the final scene.
New brave world It is not the first Marvel project that raises the eyebrows with odd lighting, lighting and digital deception. The MCU has a long story of patchwork films, in which I filmed and the post-production changes alter the performances, add characters or even place actors in scenes for which they have never been physically present.
Marvel’s stars have openly discussed to film whole sequences on green screens with little idea of who they should interact.
In the end, it is not clear whether the way Betty returned was a creative choice or a side effect of the Marvel production process. In any case, if Tyler was actually on the set of the film, they would have to actually use his talents and give it a real role to work in the film. Such waste.
