Kylo Ren Scava in the past of Darth Vader in Star Wars: Legacy of Vader #2 Preview

Did Darth Vader really returned to Tatooine to take revenge on Watto? This is the question that looms Star Wars: Legacy of Vader #2.

This problem follows Kylo Ren while retracing the steps of his legendary grandfather, Anakin Skywalker, discovering pieces of the past who have modeled the descent of Vader in the dark.

The comic has already unleashed a discussion, thanks to the preview pages released in January that seemed to show Vader Killing Watto, the Toyadarian garbage trader who once owned Anakin and his mother, Shmi, as slaves The ghost threat.

If Vader returned for revenge, it could be one of the most personal and brutal acts of his Sith kingdom.

The comic has shared a preview of Vader #2 LegacyWritten by Charles Soule with art of Luke Ross. The problem opens with Kylo Ren who arrives on Tatoine, led by Vanee, a former servant of Vader.

Kylo immediately rejects the desert planet as a waste of time, calling it a “place at no time”. But Vanee sees things differently, exhorting Kylo to recognize his deep ties with his family.

Tatooine is where Anakin’s journey began, where he met Padmé, where the Jedi order discovered him and where he suffered the loss of his mother. Vanee leads this point at home while telling one of Anakin’s distinctive moments: the Tusken Raiders massacre who tortured and killed Shmi.

It was there, in his pain and anger, that Anakin before really exploited the dark side. “Do not reject this place, Kylo Ren,” warns Vanee. “Tatooine is important.”

Vanee has access to this story thanks to Vader’s security codes, which have allowed him to dig into the files of Emperor Palpatine. His tour continues to Mos Esppa, where the young Anakin, still slave, became the first human to win the classic of Boonta Eve.

This revelation could be the moment when Kylo completely grabs the reality of the origins of his grandfather, before he was a Sith gentleman, before he was even a Jedi, Anakin Skywalker was a boy in chains.

While the preview does not reveal the meeting of Vader with Watto, the installation is all there. The weight of Anakin’s past looms on Kylo while it is part of his grandfather’s story.

Marvel’s official description makes fun of a question full of actions beyond Kylo’s abstitute:

“A return to Tatooine! Kylo Ren is looking for the home planet of his grandfather, Anakin Skywalker! The young tyrant must go against Gardulla The Hutt and his guards … and a grudge! What secrets of the past strike in the hard sands of Mos Esppa? “
