Speaking with Screenrant at Saturn Awards, Hoechlin shared his thoughts on Corenswet entering the role, expressing both enthusiasm and gratitude for his time as Superman:
“I am excited because, in a strange way, I have always done it [been] Waiting for the experience that I would have with this character. Initially there would have been two episodes that somehow turned into four, and then seven and then eight years.
“I’ve always been enthusiastic about every time that day the witness comes to pass, and therefore I can’t wait to see what they will do. I think they are fantastic. I am [a] Huge, huge guardians [of the Galaxy] Fan, so I can’t wait to see what James did.
“David [Corenswet] He sent me a really nice note before they started shooting. He is a very, very classy boy, so I wish him and Rachel and Nick and all the best there. And also for fans! I just hope it’s the best movie of the year. “
The Hoechlin Superman trip started with a couple of Supergirl episodes and continued to expand through arrowverse crossover like Elseworlds AND Crisis on infinite lands Until he finally arrived at the center of the scene Superman & Lois.
Although his time as the last son of Krypton is over, he is embracing the transition. It’s nice to see his excitement for Gunn’s vision and for Corenswet’s socket on the hero.
We all hope that this turns out to be an incredible Superman Movies. While there are some things I’m not too sure, I have faith that Gunn will offer something fantastic.
