Florence Pugh Still Disney’s Favorite to Play Rapunzel in Live-Action TANGLED Despite Sabrina Carpenter Rumors

Last month, Disney confirmed that they are moving forward with a live-action Tangled film, based on their animated musical interpretation of the classic Rapunzel fairy tale.

The 2010 animated film was led by actors Mandy Moore AND Zechariah Leviwho voiced Rapunzel and Flynn Rider/Eugene respectively, and fans have spoken openly about who they think could take their place in the new version.

One of the fans of the casting was the Marvel actress Florence Pughalthough some recent chatter has pointed to the singer Sabrina Carpentiere. Other rumors also underline this Jennifer Lopez emerging as a possibility for Mother Gothel, despite recent reports on the matter Agata always star Kathryn Hahn he could play the bad guy.

Insider Daniel Richtman (via Toonado/CBM) chimed in to say that the Black Widow AND Lightning* star Florence Pugh remains the favorite to play Rapunzel.

Most Disney fans seem to agree that this would be a perfect casting decision on Disney’s part, though it’s worth noting that Pugh is only drawn to the role and isn’t necessarily in talks or close to upon registration. Tangled at this moment.

It’s not even known who Disney has in mind for Eugene/Flynn Rider, but I’m sure they’ll find the right actor for the role.

In 2020, ComicBook asked Ron Perlmann if he would be willing to reprise his role as the evil Stabbington Brothers in a possible live-action Tangled movie, and he replied:

“The experience of working on a major animated Disney film is, well, talk about thin air. I mean, those of us who are fortunate enough to have been asked to do it, it’s on a level that’s incomparable to anything ‘other.

“I love the care and love that went into that project, how incredible it looked when it was all finished, and the love and respect that was shown to me in rendering the performance.

“I would jump at the opportunity to come back and do another version of that story or something else with the characters.”

It would be so much fun! Who would you choose for live-action roles? Tangled?
