It turns out there’s still one Easter egg hidden Spider-Man: No Way Home which no one has discovered yet and has nothing to do with Marvel lore.
According to the director Jon Wattsthe Easter egg is a profound reference to his pre-MCU days on YouTube, when he and frequent collaborator Christopher Ford ran a channel called WaverlyFlams.
Speaking to Screen Rant, Watts explained: “It’s difficult, but people have found a lot of our Easter eggs intentionally placed. There was also a thing where people found Easter eggs that we didn’t put there. We’re like, ‘Yeah, great.'”
As for the unsolved Easter egg? It’s an homage to one of LittleBigPlanet’s old sketches, cartoons, or maybe even a custom level from their channel that dates back to 2007.
Watts shared, “There are some very, very profound references to silly videos that Ford and I made on YouTube a long time ago.”
Watts and Ford have come a long way since their YouTube beginnings, collaborating on notable projects such as Spider-Man: Homecoming and the new Star Wars series Skeleton crew.
Although Watts has directed all three Spider-Man outings in the MCU, he will not return for the fourth installment. That project is now in the hands of Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings director Destin Daniel Cretton.
So if you’re a fan of Watts and the Spider-Man movie, you might want to revisit No way home with fresh eyes to try to find that elusive Easter egg that is still waiting to be found.
