Warner Bros. has released the trailer for the upcoming mobster film The Knights of the Highwhich is based on a true story. Plus it’s written by the same writer who worked on it Those good guys, Nicola Pileggi.
Movie stars Robert De Nirowho will take on the dual roles of Vito Genovese and Frank Costello, two competing Italian-American mafia bosses.
It sounds like an interesting story and I’m always up for a mafia movie with De Niro, but it’s a little strange to see him play two completely different characters because you can’t hide the fact that they’re both DeNiro.
In the film, “The Most Dangerous Enemy Is an Old Friend. This mobster thriller film follows two of New York City’s most notorious organized crime bosses, Frank Costello (De Niro) and Vito Genovese (De Niro), as they compete for the control of the city streets.
“Once they are best friends, petty jealousies and a series of betrayals put them on a deadly collision course that will reshape the Mafia (and America) forever.”
The Knights of the High is directed by Barry Levison (The Natural, The Young Sherlock Holmes, The Tin Men, Good Morning Vietnam, Rain Man, Bugsy, Avalon, Giocattoli, Divulgazione, Dormienti, Wag the Dog, Sfera)
The rest of the cast includes Debra Messing, Cosmo Jarvis, Caterina Narducci, Michele Rispoli, Michael Adler, And Amatrudo, Joe Basin, Anthony J. Gallo, Wallace Langham, Luigi Mustillo, Frank Piccirillo, Matt ServittoAND Roberto Uricola.
The Knights of the High will be released in theaters starting March 21, 2025.
