One such project is Screamboatand today we get our first look at the film’s version of Steamboat Willie, played by David Howard Thorntonwho also plays Art the Clown in the Terrifier series.
I laughed when I saw it because the design is funny and I guess that’s the point. Writer and director of the film Steven Death he told Variety:
“I’m so excited to share our mischievous mouse monster with the world. Screamboat it’s my way of paying homage to Disney by putting a sinister but comical twist on the classic.
“Watching David Howard Thornton bring Steamboat Willie to life with the wizards at Quantum Creation FX has been nothing short of amazing – he’s hilarious and incredibly entertaining. I can’t wait for audiences to meet Willie and experience the chaos we’ve created.”
In Screamboat“A mischievous mouse stalks a group of New Yorkers on a late-night ferry ride, wreaking murderous mayhem during a relaxing commute. Can the ship’s motley crew of travelers find a way to stop a murderous creature that has developed a taste for tourists?
“Screamboat will feature a mix of practical creature effects, miniatures and cutting-edge virtual production to showcase its very mischievous monster making its way across a fear ferry.
The film is also the protagonist Tyler Posey (Adolescent wolf), who is Billy Fisher’s favorite actor, and Kailey Hyman (Terrifying 2), with Brian Quinn (Impractical jokers) AND Joe DeRosa appearing in cameo roles.
The director promises that the film version The steamboat Willie it is “a 100% practical creature shot from inside the camera”, in which both a puppet and a costume are used.
