Shudder has released a crazy trailer for the upcoming wrestling horror film titled Dark matchwhich comes from the writer and director Lowell Dean (Wolf Cop).
In the film, “A small wrestling troupe accepts a high-paying gig in a remote town only to discover, too late, that the community is run by a mysterious cult leader with devious plans for their match.”
The director said of the film: “When I wrote Dark match I wondered if it was too crazy to make, but within a few months I was on set in Edmonton, with a hard-working cast and crew pouring their (fake) blood and sweat into the wrestling ring to bring it to life.
The film stars a wrestling superstar Chris Jericho (Terrifying 2), Ayisha Issa (Transplant), Steven Ogg (The walking dead), Sara Canning (the Vampire Diaries), Michael Eklund (Horn) AND Jonathan Cherry (WolfCop, Goon).
Dark Match releases exclusively on Shudder on January 31, 2025.
