It’s been a long time since then Brett Ratner made any news or made any kind of movie. This is because for several years he has been accused by several women, including Olivia Munnof inappropriate sexual behavior.
It was bad enough that Warner Bros., where Ratner’s production company was founded, cut ties with him.
Well, Amazon Studios is now going into business with Ratner and he will direct for them a documentary film about Melanie Trump, the upcoming former first lady.
An Amazon studio spokesperson calls the film “an unprecedented behind-the-scenes look at Donald Trump’s first lady and third wife.”
The film will be released in both theaters and streaming and began filming in December 2024, a month after former President Donald Trump won the presidential election.
I honestly never thought I’d see Ratner working again after all the accusations that were made against him. Furthermore, he has never been such a good director.
The report states that Ratner’s friends say he “saw a path to return by directing a documentary, requiring little capital and no distributor until much later in the process.”
Melania Trump will executive produce the film alongside Fernando Sulichin of New Element Media. Amazon is planning the film’s release in the second half of 2025.
Hollywood continues to be a very strange place.
