Andy Muschiettithe director of The Flashrecently shed some light on the status of his highly anticipated DCU project, The brave and the bold.
Despite the initial excitement over his involvement, the director revealed that the film has been “delayed a bit,” so we have no idea when this film will actually take off.
Speaking in a recent interview, Muschietti explained: “The Batman [The Brave and The Bold] the project has been postponed a bit, so I might make another film first.”
While the announcement may be disappointing for fans eager to see this new take on Batman and Robin, it’s not really a surprise. We hear there were some behind-the-scenes issues with the film’s development.
James Gunn, co-head of DC Studios, stressed the importance of defining the script well before moving forward with any project saying:
“There’s no set timeline for anything. The one thing I’ve tried to make clear to people from the beginning, in the way I hope we’ll be different, is that everything at DC is going to be writer-driven. Until we have a script I’m totally happy with, that movie won’t get made, whatever it is.”
Gunn’s vision for the DCU prioritizes storytelling above all else, and his remarks suggest as much The brave and the bold it is still in the early stages of development.
He highlighted recent successes with scripts such as Supergirl and the Lanterns series, noting, “Once The brave and the bold get to that point, then we’ll make the film.”
The project is said to be inspired by the acclaimed work of Grant Morrison and Frank Quitely Batman and Robin comic books. The story will focus on Bruce Wayne’s relationship with his son Damian, training him as Robin while navigating the complex dynamics of fatherhood and vigilantism.
It sucks to learn that The brave and the bold it’s been delayed, but I like that DC Studios is committed to delivering a story that meets high standards.
Andy Muschietti finally talks about “BATMAN: BRAVE & THE BOLD”.
He says the Batman movie won’t be made for a while and that he might make a smaller movie before then.
