THE Avengers: Judgment Day the rumors keep coming and this latest one puts the spotlight on Earth’s Mightiest Heroes who may be facing off against dark multiversal versions of themselves.
According to insider @MyTimeToShineH, “The Avengers will fight evil versions of themselves” in the upcoming blockbuster.
While details remain scarce, this raises the intriguing possibility of Chris Evans AND Robert Downey Jr. returning to play the twisted counterparts of their iconic characters. For example, we could see Evans play Captain Hydra as well.
An evil lineup like this would certainly present an interesting and unique challenge for the Avengers. While there’s no confirmation of these specific appearances yet, the concept of these fan-favorite heroes fighting against the Dark Variants could be really interesting.
There’s also a more recent scooper, @BeyondReporter, who hinted at Elizabeth Olsen’s return as Scarlet Witch in Avengers: Judgment Day. This source already broke the news previously Commando of creatures securing a second season, lending some credibility to their claim.
For fans, this could be an exciting return after Wanda’s dramatic turn Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. It remains to be seen whether Wanda will be an ally or an antagonist. Maybe it will be both!
This isn’t the first time we’ve heard this Elizabeth OlsenS’s Scarlet Witch could be in Avengers: Doomsday, as it is said that she could be Doctor Doom’s lover in the story.
When the Multiverse Saga was first announced, fans were hoping for just this kind of exploration of the Variants, iconic characters reimagined with an evil twist.
It was previously reported that the film will feature a “huge number of variations” and that several actors will do “double duty” Avengers: Judgment Day AND Avengers: Secret Wars.
It was also reported at the time that “Evans might play another character in the film alongside him [Robert Downey Jr.s’] Doctor Doom.” So, it will be really interesting to see if there is any truth to these rumors.
Since Marvel Studios is keeping details under wraps, these rumors remain unconfirmed. However, the idea of the evil Avengers and the return of the Scarlet Witch is enough to fuel anticipation for this long-awaited film.
Avengers: Judgment Day will be released in May 2026, with Avengers: Secret Wars expected arrival in May 2027.
