Sony Pictures CEO Really Thinks MADAME WEB and KRAVEN Are Good Movies & Blames Critics for Their Failures

The outgoing CEO of Sony Pictures, Tony Vinciquerrahe really thinks so Mrs. Web AND Kraven the Hunter they are good movies, and I wonder why these people, who don’t know what good movies are, continue to run Hollywood.

During a recent interview with the Los Angeles Times, looking back on his seven years at the helm of Sony Pictures, Vinciquerra talked about the studio’s successes and disappointments, including the latest Marvel film in the Spider-Man universe launching under his surveillance, Kraven the Hunter.

I thought Kraven the Hunter it was a terrible movie through and through and when talking about it he said it was “probably the worst release we’ve had in the last 7 1/2 years” [I’ve been at Sony]so it didn’t work very well, which I still don’t understand, because the movie isn’t a bad movie.

I don’t understand how he doesn’t understand why the movie didn’t do well! I mean, you saw the movie, right? How can you not watch that movie and see how poorly written and directed it is?

Well, he thinks too Mrs. Web it was a good movie! He said: “Let’s just mention it Mrs. Web for a moment. Mrs. Web it underperformed in theaters because the press simply crucified it. It wasn’t a bad movie and did great on Netflix.

It was a bad movie, this guy obviously doesn’t know what a good movie is. It drives me crazy that these are the kind of people who run Hollywood, can’t or won’t see all the bad decisions they’ve made, and can’t make better movies if they can’t admit to themselves that they made a bad movie .

Instead, they blame critics for their film’s failures. Vinciquerra said: “For some reason, the press decided they didn’t want us to make these Kraven and Madame Web films, and the critics just trashed them.

“They also did it with Poisonbut the audience loved it Poison and done Poison a huge success. These aren’t terrible movies. For some reason they were simply destroyed by critics in the press.

They’re bad movies, and that’s why they bombed at the box office! The only reason the Venom movies worked is because they weren’t that bad Madame Web, Kraven the HunterAND Morbiowhich he didn’t mention.

Vinciquerra and the rest of the Hollywood studio executives who think their bad movies are actually really good need to be honest with themselves. Once they do that, they can take the steps necessary to make truly good films.
