Marvel fans were initially introduced Captain America: New World Order during the 2022 San Diego Comic-Con, with the president of Marvel Studios Kevin Feige revealing it as part of the next MCU slate.
However, in the summer of 2023, the film’s title changed to Captain America: Brave New World. Until now, the reason for this change had remained a mystery.
In a recent interview with Empire, executive producer Nate Moore light is finally shed on the decision to make the title change.
He said, “I think New World Order it was a title that we thought was really interesting, and also a little moody and scary. But to be honest, some of the feedback we received, internally and externally, was that that phrase, unfortunately, was co-opted into the real world in a way that made people uncomfortable.”
The phrase “New World Order” often sparks ideas of global political change, but has also been linked to conspiracy theories that can have negative connotations. It’s this feedback that prompted the studio to reevaluate the film’s title.
It’s kind of funny because initially the title was “moody and scary”, but what they came up with was, I guess, too moody and scary.
Ultimately, Brave New World seems more suited to this chapter of the MCU. It captures a tone of optimism and bold leadership as Anthony Mackie’s Captain America takes center stage.
Although the film features The leadera villain potentially working to create his own version of a “new world order”, the updated title better reflects Sam’s role in leading a new team of heroes.
Moore, who recently announced his departure from the MCU after a long tenure, will still be involved in other Marvel projects, including Black Panther 3. For now, fans can’t wait to see how Brave New World carves out its place in Marvel’s evolving cinematic universe.
In the film “After the meeting with the newly elected president of the United States Thaddeus Ross, played by Harrison Ford Making his debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Sam finds himself in the middle of an international incident.
“He must uncover the motive behind a nefarious global conspiracy before the true mastermind causes the entire world to see red.”
Captain America: Brave New World even stars Anthony Mackie, Danny Ramirez, Shira Haas, Xosha Roquemore, Carl Lumblywith Giancarlo Esposito, Liv TylerAND Tim Blake Nelson.
Captain America: Brave New World will be released in American theaters on February 14, 2025.
