Warner Bros.” WaterTower Music has officially released the composer John Murphy’S Superman theme that was featured in the film’s first trailer, which included an electric guitar riff on John Williams’ legendary theme.
It’s not a joke, since I saw this trailer Supermanmy mind has been repeating Williams’ Superman theme from the 1978 film over and over in my head. I’m seriously whistling it right now as I write this in a bar I’m in and my daughter is staring at me as I am. It’s a perfect soundtrack.
Titled “Theme from Superman (Trailer Version),” Murphy’s score slowly builds to a fantastic updated version of Williams’ uplifting and heroic score that goes hand-in-hand with Superman’s.

Superman will launch the cinematic portion of DC Studios’ Gods and Monsters: Part 1. The theatrical release is scheduled for July 11, 2025.
