James Gunn responds to reports that SUPERMAN’s budget is 3 million

A budget report recently began circulating online James Gunn’S Superman the film made $363 million.

The film was shot in Cleveland, Ohio, which doubled for Metropolis, and this news was first reported on News5Cleveland.

The report said: “‘Genesis,’ according to an application with the Ohio Motion Picture Tax Credit program, has a budget of $363 million. It is slated to receive an $11 million tax credit from the state.

“The application is that 25% of the film will be shot in Cincinnati and Cleveland. More than 3,200 Ohio residents are expected to be hired.”

“Genesis” was the code name used for Superman while he was shooting. Shortly after the news broke, Gunn responded and denied the repot.

Gunn took to social media saying, “No. Good God. I wish I had a place even close to that!”

He later elaborated, explaining, “I don’t know if it’s fake or if it’s just some weird form that an assistant in the Cleveland office filled out by putting random things in the blanks.

“I sent it to our accountants and financial producers when it first came out a year ago and no one knew what it was. I can only tell you that it wasn’t anyone on our team!”

It’s unknown what the film’s actual production budget is, but even if it’s around $150 million, it could come in at around $300 million after factoring in the film’s marketing budget.

Regardless, Warner Bros. will no longer give a production budget of $363 million. It’s just ridiculous for any movie.
