CONSTANTINE will finally get a 4K remaster and arrive next year

Warner Bros. Home Entertainment announced it Keanu Reeves’ Classic DC movie from 2005 Constantine will receive a 4K remaster and arrive next year!

The 4K version of the film will receive a 4K UHD physical release, a limited edition 4K steelbook version, and a 4K digital version of the film on February 18, marking the 20th anniversary of the film’s theatrical release.

The new restoration of Constantine was made from the original camera negative and was supervised by the director Francesco Lorenzo.

Lawrence and Reeves also reunited for a new special in which they talk about how Constantine has grown in popularity and evolved over the past 20 years. You can watch a clip from that below.

Speaking about the film in an interview with CB, Lawrence said: “It’s interesting because I never thought of it as a movie based on a comic book. There is nothing negative or positive about comic book movies in general.

“The thing is, I wasn’t a big fan of comics. I wasn’t very familiar with John Constantine and Hellblazer before reading the script. So I was brought the script and it was my first immersion into the world of Constantine.

“So I thought of him as a character that I really loved, and I thought of him as a world that I would like to build.”

“You’ve never seen John Constantine before. You’ve never seen that kind of contemporary noir with a character like this that borders on this supernatural world. So it felt unique.

“And it felt like there were a lot of opportunities for the types of characters that I really like. I’m really attracted to very solitary figures and Constantine is definitely one of those.

“And it’s really a lot of fun to create that world. So I think, in all honesty, it was very unique and a great opportunity, especially as a first film.”
