The video highlights how BACK TO THE FUTURE and THE GOONIES could have been set on exactly the same day in 1985

Here’s a fun video to watch from The Confused Breakfast podcast where the fan theory is discussed Back to the future AND The Goonies took place on the same day, October 26, 1985.

“Here’s what we know. Goonies took place on a Saturday in October after the Brothers had broken out of prison. This is all a fact.

«The newspaper with the escape of the Brothers is dated October 24th. If the newspaper had been published on the 24th, the only Saturday after the one in October 1985, it would be the 26th”.

I love the idea that these two films are set in the same universe and that these stories are set on the same day.

The podcast hosts also talked about Wayne Knight’s character in Jurassic Park paying homage to the Goonies with his clothing.

“At the beginning of the movie, she’s wearing this floral shirt, which is what Chunk is wearing The Goonies. Halfway through the film he wears a black t-shirt under a gray coat, which is exactly what Mouth is wearing.

“And then at the end of the movie, he wears a bright yellow raincoat with a hood, which is exactly what Mikey wears.”

Watch the video below and let us know what you think of these theories.
