The title of the second film in the series 28 years later the trilogy was titled The Temple of Bonesand will be released in theaters on January 16, 2026.
The film will be released just six months later 28 years laterwhich is expected to be released on June 20th. The Temple of Bones will be directed by Nia Da Costa (The Wonders) from a screenplay written by Alex Garland. Danny Boyle is producing.
No plot details have been revealed The Temple of Bonesbut he will continue the story 28 years later. In the film, “It has been nearly three decades since the rabies virus escaped from a bioweapons laboratory, and now, still in ruthlessly enforced quarantine, some have found a way to exist among the infected.
“One of these groups of survivors lives on a small island connected to the mainland by a single, heavily defended causeway. When one of the group leaves the island on a mission into the dark heart of the mainland, they discover secrets, wonders, and horrors that have changed not only the infected but other survivors as well.
Cilian Murphy returns as Jim, with Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Jodie Comer, Jack O’Connell, Erin KellymanAND Ralph Fiennes.
