Emmy Award winner Julie Bowen (Modern family) will star in the half-hour comedy series from NBC and Universal Television Tastecurrently in development, by writers and executive producers Justin Shanes (Saint Denis doctor) AND Nedaa Swiss (Tonight’s show with Jimmy Fallon).
Bowen will also executive produce through her Bowen and Sons Production alongside company president Rachael Field Excellent chef EP Gail Simmons.
Taste follows the employees of a traditional food magazine in the Bay Area. When the publication is bought by a Silicon Valley tech mogul, its traditionalist editor (Bowen) is suddenly forced to work with a vibrant young TikTok chef.
Bowen received two Emmy Awards for her portrayal of Claire Dunphy on the hit ABC series Modern familywhich concluded its 11-year run in 2020. She can currently be seen in the horror-thriller comedy Hysteria! on the Peacock. Additional television credits include ABC Boston Lawyer and NBC And.
On the big screen, Bowen played Virginia Venit in Adam Sandler’s film Felice Gilmore, a role he will reprise in the 2025 sequel. Most recently, he starred in Mixtapes AND Hubie Halloween for Netflix and The fallout for Warner Bros./MAX.
