Industry expert Jeff Sneider recently mentioned on the latest episode of The Hot Mic podcast that he heard from his source that Johansson could return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Podcast host John Rocha brought up the fact that Chris Evans is returning to the MCU, and while discussing it, Rocha asked if Sneider had heard of any other former MCU stars returning for the film.
He replied: “I was asking someone today, I said ‘Do you think we’ll see Ms. Johansson again?’ And they said, ‘I think it would be weird if she was the only original Avenger who didn’t come back.’”
Sneider also added that he thinks Johansson “will probably be back.”
But there’s been no word from Marvel Studios on Johansson’s return to the MCU, so obviously we’ll treat this as a rumor.
Here’s the thing Avengers: Judgment Day it’s going to have a pretty big line-up of characters, and it wouldn’t surprise me if Johansson showed up. Hell, when it comes to Marvel, we’ve learned that even the impossible is possible.
We also know that Marvel is willing to go to great lengths to get fans excited about Marvel again. I mean, they cast Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom and brought the Russo Bros. back to life!
