Here is yet another print by the artist Tim Clinard and this is for David Fincher’S Alien 3. The artist has this great style that captures the vintage look of old school 80’s comics.
Previously we shared two other pieces for Ridley Scott Alien and that of James Cameron Aliens. All prints are currently available for purchase at the Hero Complex Gallery for $40. This is a limited edition of 125.
Alien 3 begins with a devastating turn of events as Ellen Ripley (Sigourney Weaver) crashes on Fiorina 161, a remote all-male penal colony, after an escape pod malfunctions. Tragically, the crash kills his surviving comrades Aliens, Newt and Hicks, which was the worst idea ever.
The story follows Ripley as she discovers that an alien also survived the crash, unleashing terror on the colony’s prisoners and staff. Adding to the grim stakes, Ripley discovers she carries an alien queen embryo within her, forcing her to face her inevitable sacrifice to save humanity.
As you know, the reception at Alien 3 it was divisive. Fans of the franchise were polarized by the film’s decision to kill off beloved characters Aliens and its slower, more meditative tone. Many felt it betrayed the heroic and hopeful elements established in Cameron’s film.
Behind the scenes, the production was plagued by creative problems, constant rewrites, and studio interference, leaving Fincher with little control over the final product.
Fincher disavowed the film, citing the chaotic production process and the studio’s refusal to let him realize his vision.
