Season 2 of AHSOKA is said to use “multiple different filmmaking techniques,” not just volume

According to a recent report, Davide Filoni’S Ahsoka Season two will move production from Los Angeles to the UK. This means that Lucasfilm currently has no film or television projects scheduled to film in Los Angeles.

According to IndieWire, Ahsoka Filming on the second season will begin in April 2025, and the production will “use multiple different filmmaking techniques.” Note that “The first was filmed entirely on the Volume stages.”

It’s nice to know that different cinematic techniques will be used to bring this story to life. This means that some series will be filmed on location, on real sets such as Andor.

While it’s great to shoot The Volume with its huge, wraparound LED screen that creates hyper-realistic images displayed in real time, some people think it creates lifeless sets. So, shooting on location will be a breath of fresh air for some Star Wars fans.

Speaking to Star Wars: The Skeleton Crew premiering at Disneyland earlier this month, Filoni shared an update on the situation Ahsoka Season 2.

“I’m very comfortable with that, too. I’m writing it, and I’m still the only writer on it, and so I’ve had fun doing it, but it’s a challenge, obviously, and doing a little bit of retracing these story arcs has been a challenge and making sure it all comes out in a way that I think is exciting for the fans,” he joked.

“I know they’re interested in knowing where some of the things I developed in season one,” Filoni continued. “I’m quite happy. I love working with Rosario [Dawson]so I can’t wait to get back to it.”

Ahsoka is set after the fall of the Empire and “follows former Jedi Knight Ahsoka Tano as she investigates an emerging threat to a vulnerable galaxy.” Season 2 will continue that journey, and with Grand Admiral Thrawn, Baylan Skoll, and Shin Hati on the loose, it will be interesting to see where the story goes next.

Ahosoka even stars Mary Elizabeth Winstead like Hera Syndulla, the deceased Ray Stevenson as Baylan Skoll, Ivanna Sakhno as Shin Hati, Diana Lee Inosanto as Morgan Elsbeth, David Tennant like Huyang, Lars Mikkelsen as Grand Admiral Thrawn, and Eman Esfandi appearing as Ezra Bridger.

I hope we’ll see Hayden Christensen they also return to take on the role of Anakin Skywalker.
