As you know, the next chapter of the Fast & Furious the franchise has been hit with some delays. This is the sequel to X fastwhich left fans with a major cliffhanger.
Three years have passed since then X fast was released and it’s been six years since the last films in the series were announced. So what’s the problem? Why was there no movement in the next one? Fast and furious movie?
Vin Diesel appears to blame the deals on conflicting studio demands. The actor recently shared the following on social media:
“I heard Universal in my ear saying we need FastX2 by March 2026! I’ve got Comcast in my other ear saying we need two movies to be the finale!
“Then the writer of Fast Five sent me this image and said we need to see DOM and HOBBS resolve their differences. I just want to get back to real street racing, practical stunts… and the reunion of that beautiful brotherhood. Happy Thanksgiving…”
So, it seems like everyone involved with this franchise simply needs to be on the same page.
Universal Pictures took over Christina Hodson (The Flash, Bumblebee) AND Oren Uziel (The Lost City, 22 Jump Street) to co-write the screenplay. This was also confirmed previously X fast director Louis Leterrier he’s returning to directing.
Speaking previously about the final filming of the franchise, Diesel said:
“To say that the excitement around our finale has been incredibly powerful is an understatement. This grand finale isn’t just a finale; it’s a celebration of the incredible family we’ve built together. I hope to make you proud!”
