Marvel has many television projects in the works in various stages of development. Some of them will be returning and some are brand new to Disney+, but they’re all pretty exciting. While the studio hasn’t provided many recent updates, industry scoopers Daniele Richtmann has several rumored updates (via CBM) to think about.
The bigger news is that Marvel Studios has reportedly given up on producing a Young Avengers film, and will instead focus on carrying the new rebranded name Champions aDisney+. The rebranding of the group probably points to the fact that it took so long to bring together these characters, who are no longer teenagers, as in the comics, but young adults.
The report states that the search for a showrunner has begun and that the main reason why we will be getting a movie instead of a TV show is supposedly due to The Wonders underperforming at the box office last year.
It seems Ms. Marvel it wasn’t the attraction Marvel Studios was expecting, surely leaving them to conclude that a streaming audience won’t necessarily follow these heroes to theaters without good enough reason.
Disney CEO Bob Iger also discussed the importance of protecting the Avengers brand ea Young Avengers the underperformance of the spin-offs would risk overshadowing the main event films… which are guaranteed money makers, of course.
The scooper released a few other minor updates, including that Marvel Television is looking for an actress to play a mayoral candidate in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2. We’re not sure what this means for Wilson Fisk.
Hawkeye The second season is expected to begin filming next fall for a 2026/2027 release on Disney+. Nova production is not expected to start until around the same time or perhaps even early 2026.
What do you think of these new updates? Which Marvel series are you most looking forward to?
