After a gig that lasted 35 years and a job pretty well done, Pamela Haydenbest known for voicing Millhouse The Simpsonshe’s retiring from work to see what else is out there.
“After much thought, I have decided to retire The Simpsons pursue other creative outlets. Thank you all for their love and support!” Hayden said in a statement.
To celebrate all he’s done for the show, Fox’s Animation Domination block released a video praising the voice actor. “People always say what a nerd [Millhouse] AND.
But one thing I love about Millhouse is that he always gets knocked down but keeps getting back up,” Hayden says in the video. “I love the little guy. It’s this wonderful analogy to life.
In addition to voicing Millhouse Van Houten, Harden also voiced Rod Flanders, Jimbo Jones, Janey Powell, Sarah Wiggum and many other characters on the long-running Fox animated comedy.
Millhouse has a long history with The Simpsons. In fact, his first appearance came while the property was still airing as a short-lived cartoon series The Tracey Ullman Show. The character who would become Bart’s best friend debuted in the 1988 commercial for Butterfinger.
The Simpsons premiered in 1989. Since then, it has become the longest-running American animated series, the longest-running American sitcom, and the longest-running American scripted prime-time television series.
It spawned a film in 2007, The Simpsons movieand has won 37 Primetime Emmy Awards, 34 Annie Awards and two Peabody Awards.
