Unfortunately, the old heroes will not return.
Online service Hulu announced the launch of a new project related to ‘Prison Break’, a year after the first preparation reports. This time, viewers will not find a continuation of an already known story, but a completely different story unfolding in the same universe.
According to the official description, the main character will be a former military woman who decides to take a job as a guard in a particularly dangerous prison to prove what she is ready for for the sake of the person she loves.
A feature of the new version will be a completely updated cast of characters and the absence of previous heroes. In particular, viewers will not see the usual tandem of brothers who were previously at the center of events. It is noted that a hero named Michael will appear in the story, but he is not related to the previous main characters.
Emily Browning will play Cassidy, a former military officer and new director.

The project also includes Drake Rodger (Tommy), Lucas Gage (Jackson), Clayton Cardenas (Michael, aka “Ghost”), JR Bourne (Junior), Georgie Flores (Andrea), Miles Bullock (Darius, called “Red” in prison).
The project will be led by Elgin James, who will not only write the script but also direct the first episode, setting the style of the entire series. Paul Scheuring, the author of the original Prison Break, also joined the production and serves as executive producer. This should preserve the hallmarks of the universe, but also introduce a completely new storyline.
The news of the launch of a new story coincided with the return of the first seasons of the famous series to online platforms. Fans once again have the opportunity to rewatch or experience the original series for the first time.
The original version was released in 2005 and has five seasons. At the center of events was engineer Michael Scofield, who was deliberately sent to prison to help his brother Lincoln, who was wrongly accused and awaiting execution. In the fight for freedom he was helped by other prisoners and the doctor Sarah.
The series gained international popularity and featured the work of actors Dominic Purcell, Wentworth Miller, Amaury Nolasco, Robert Knepper, Sarah Wayne Callies and Rockmond Dunbar. Fans actively discuss the news of the restart on social networks. The new interpretation is expected to shift the focus to other themes and new characters.
