Another report has surfaced that Marvel Studios is planning to introduce the West Coast Avengers into the MCU.
This rumor comes from an inside scooper, @MyTimeToShineH, who simply states, “There’s a plan for the West Coast Avengers in the MCU.”
This is something that has been speculated about for years, and it’s only a matter of time before it happens. It was previously reported that the West Coast Avengers team would debut in Marvel Vision series.
It was explained at the time: “I heard that this show will have elements from the West [Coast] The Avengers run and may even have members of that team in the series.
Created by Roger Stern AND Bob Hall, the West Coast Avengers debuted in 1984. The team was founded by Hawkeye at the behest of the original Avengers to expand their reach and protect the West Coast of the United States.
In the comics, the original members of the West Coast Avengers include Hawkeye, Mockingbird, War Machine, Wonder Man, and Tigra. Vision is not an original member of the team, but later joins them and becomes an important part of the group over the years.
If this happens it means we could see Jeremy Renner return as Clinton Barton / Hawkeye, e Don Cheadle as James “Rhodey” Rhodes/War Machine. Then there’s Clint’s wife, Laura Barton (Linda Cardellini) who is Agent 19 of S.H.I.E.L.D., which is an alias for Mockingbird in the comics.
THE Vision the series was developed by Star Trek: Picard executive producer Terry Matalaswho will serve as showrunner of the project.
The series is the protagonist Paolo Bettany AND James Spaderand then there is Elizabeth Olsen, that he might show up too.
Who knows, there may be no truth to any of this, but I wouldn’t be surprised if the West Coast Avengers team shows up at some point.
