DEADPOOL & WOLVERINE becomes the most-watched live-action film on Disney+ in its first week of streaming

Deadpool and Wolverine opened last summer to a huge response. It was easy to tell that fans loved it from the reviews, but the box office numbers themselves made it clear. After just over two months in theaters, the Marvel film has become the highest-grossing R-rated film of all time.

Now, it doesn’t stop breaking those records as it heads towards streaming. After less than a week on Disney+, Deadpool & Wolverine has surpassed another Marvel film, Black Panther: Wakanda forever, becoming the most-watched live-action film in Disney+ history with 19.4 million views in its first 6 days on the streaming service (this doubles as a live-action photo viewing record for Hulu).

Deadpool and Wolverine also became the best-selling R-rated title in its first week on digital platforms in the United States in early October, beating Lionsgate’s John Wick: Chapter 4. The film debuted digitally on October 1 after a 68-day theatrical window, while for DVD it’s an 89-day window.

Deadpool and Wolverine it grossed $636.7 million at the domestic box office and $1.33 billion worldwide, making it the second-highest-grossing film of 2024 behind Pixar’s. Inside out 2 which grossed $652.9 million and $1.69 billion worldwide.

Other notable milestones for the superhero team include:

— The thirteenth highest-grossing domestic film of all time

– The #1 MCU movie 5 national, n. 10 international and no. 7 overall all-time.

— It had the highest global gross ever for an R-rated film, surpassing 2016’s Dead Pool.

That’s pretty impressive. I loved the film and contributed to the streaming views this week, enjoying the film once again. I can’t wait to see what happens to these characters in the future, whether it’s something else Deadpool and Wolverineor their part in a future Marvel ensemble. In any case, I will be present on the opening night.
