The ARCANE creative team discusses the incredibly shocking ending to Act 2

The end of Arcane Act 2 of season 2 was absolutely crazy as all hell broke loose! If you’re not into the show yet, stop reading… Spoilers ahead!

In episode 6 of season 2, Caitlyn’s disloyalty led Ambessa to launch an attack on the sanctuary and Jayce killed Viktor, which unleashed chaos among the people she had saved. It also saw Vander go into an uncontrollably wild rage, and the adorable and lovable little Isha sacrificed herself to stop him.

In the midst of the chaos, we see young Isha overload Jinx’s gun with Hextech cores and shoot him right under Vander, destroying the “beast” and several Noxian soldiers while Jinx and everyone else watching the series screamed in shock.

This moment broke me and my emotions came out. Yes, damn… I cried. It was so damn sad!

During a recent interview with GamesRadar+, Jinx’s voice actress Ella Purnell she was asked why Jinx seems “destined to lose everyone she cares about” and she explained: “It’s unfortunate! It’s almost a self-fulfilling prophecy. There’s a reason why Jinx sees a lot of herself in Isha . Isha is very similar to her.”

Purnell went on to talk about Isha, saying, “I think she’s everything Powder wanted Powder to be at that moment. It’s so heartbreaking because she’s so sweet and so innocent, and you really see a side of Jinx that comes out when they” We are playing together with the grumpy robot.

“You see this joy, this real inner child comes out. She’s innocent and you start to believe that maybe with Isha’s trust in her, Jinx might change. It’s so heartbreaking.

Purnell then turned to the showrunner Cristiano Linke and asked, “What’s wrong with you? Why did you write that?”

Linke responded: “I think it’s a terrible reminder to Jinx that Isha is inspired by, like, the chaos of chaos and destruction. It’s another reminder, like, ‘You’ll never be able to escape this ‘It’s so hard, especially when it happens to someone as innocent as Isha.’

Arcane’s storytelling and character development is top-notch work and Hollywood should take note because it’s some damn great storytelling! It’s the best and strongest I see right now in any movie or TV series.

I have no idea where the show will go from here on out, but I’m excited for Act 3, which arrives November 23rd.
