Challengers AND The crown star Josh O’Connor he joined the director’s cast Steven Spielbergit’s the next big movie project. O’Connor joins the previous cast Emily Blunt, Colin Firth, Colman Domingo AND Eva Hewson.
Spielberg will direct the film from a screenplay written by David Koepp (Jurassic Park, War of the Worlds, AND Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull).
The studio described the untitled Amblin project as an “original new event film,” and while no details for the film were shared, it is said to incorporate science fiction elements and involve UFOs.
I’m really curious and excited to know what Spielberg has in mind here. I wish we knew more about what this movie will be like, but I hope it turns out great in the end.
Kristie Macosko Kriegerwho collaborated with Spielberg on everything from AI artificial intelligence TO History of the West Sidewill act as producer.
O’Connor is currently shooting the film The mind and it will appear inside Ryan Johnsonit is studded with stars Knives out followed, Wake up, dead man.
Universal Pictures will release the new film on May 15, 2026.
