Diego Luna talks about Cassian’s journey in ANDOR season 2, K-2SO and the end in Yavin

Cassin Andor’s story will end in the upcoming second season of Andor Season 2. This story will lead to the events of Rogue Onewhich saw Andor sacrifice his life for the cause of the rebellion.

The events of the first season covered the first year of that period, but the story of the second season will develop over the course of four years.

When he talks about his journey in the new season, the star of the series Diego Luna he told Empire: “He’s a man completely committed to the rebellion. He is someone who needs to ascend. There is a huge mountain to climb to do this [become] the boy we meet Rogue One.”

This season, Andor will be joined by K-2SO, the reprogrammed Imperial droid, sardonically voiced by Alan Tudyk. We will learn how the two ended up becoming allies.

Luna shared, “From the audience’s perspective, they probably created their own story about how Cassian and K-2 worked together. It says a lot about Cassian that his best friend is a droid. And a droid that he had to reprogram. But how did it really happen and who was before? These questions will be answered.”

The actor went on to talk about the new destinations the series will take him, saying, “We’re moving through space more than ever before, because of the amount of planets and sets you’re going to see. There are some familiar places and some new ones.” .”

Series creator Tony Gilroy added: “I mean, we have to end up in Yavin, right? So we will tell the story of Yavin. No one has tackled Yavin the way we will.”

In Andor Season 2: “The second and final installment tells the story of Cassian Andor and the emerging Rebel alliance over the course of the climactic four years leading up to the discovery of the Death Star and the events of Rogue One.”

Andor The second season will premiere on Disney+ on April 22, 2025.
