Roadside Attractions has released the first trailer for Paola Andersonthe next movie The ultimate showgirland Anderson received much praise for his performance in the film.

The Last Showgirl is described as “a touching film of resilience, rhinestones and feathers”. Anderson plays Shelly, “a glamorous showgirl who must plan her future when her show suddenly closes after a 30-year run.”

The film is set in Las Vegas and explores the story of a woman who finds herself at a crossroads with her theater production on its last legs.

The film was directed by Gia Coppola and he is also the protagonist Kiernan Shipka, Brenda Song, Billie Lourd, Dave Battista, AND Jamie Lee Curtis.

Curtis plays a waitress and confidante of Anderson’s character. Bautista plays Shelley’s manager and former lover, who breaks the news of her career’s end. Shipka and Song play two fellow showgirls who move on to greener pastures. Lourd plays Anderson’s daughter, Hannah.

Anderson previously said of the film, “So much of my career was about physicality and it was a journey, but it was also part of the reason why I did this experiment with myself just, you know, peeling it all back.” back, remembering who I am, not being defined by what people do to me, but by what I do.

The film opens in limited release in Los Angeles on December 13 as an awards qualifier and opens in theaters nationwide on January 10.
