We learned this last week Ridley Scott is developing a new Alien film for 20th Century Studios. No details have been revealed about what this is Alien will be the project, but we have speculated that it could be a sequel Prometheus AND Alien: Covenant.
Well, during a recent interview with THR, Scott was talking about the franchise and said that Alien: Covenant is the best choice for a Alien followed.
He explained: “Covenant is the best [for a sequel] because he leaves the girl in the [cryo pod] AND [Michael Fassbender’s killer android] David has alien eggs and 2,000 colonists running around. It’s a perfect start.”
With a comment like that, it’s a safe bet that the film Scott is working on could just be the sequel to Covenant. Scott’s Alien: Covenant the sequel was titled Alien: awakening and a screenplay was written by John Logan.
The film would see it Michael FassbenderThe android David finds himself facing the Engineers on LV-426, which is the moon where the Xenomorph was discovered in the first Alien movie.
It was revealed: “Logan’s script would have seen the return of the Promethean Engineers, with the survivors of that species pursuing the genocidal David. As for the setting, Scott said it was obvious “We’re really going to go to the planet.” by this we assume he is referring to LV-426.
It will be interesting to see what kind of Alien movie Scott ends up making, but there are plenty of fans out there who would love to see the director make a sequel to Covenant.
