A new trailer for Tron: Ares premiered at D23 Brazil over the weekend, and while the full trailer wasn’t released online, a short clip was.
The film comes from the director Joachim Rønning and the video below sees Jared Leto coming into action on the grid. The footage looks interesting, but I’d like to see more! Hopefully, Disney will soon release a trailer for us all to watch.
I’m curious to see this film and I hope the creative team will succeed in making it happen. The film follows a highly sophisticated program, Ares, “which is sent from the digital world to the real world on a dangerous mission, marking humanity’s first encounter with AI beings.”
The film is also the protagonist Cameron Monaghan (Star Wars Jedi), Evan Peters (WandaVision), Greta Lee, Jodie Turner-Smith (Without remorse), Greta Lee, Hasan Minhaj, Arturo CastroAND Gillian Anderson. Jeff Bridges is also returning to the world of Tron.
Rønning previously spoke about the film, saying: “I’m thrilled to be a part of the TRON franchise and bring this new film to fans around the world.
“TRON: Ares builds on a legacy of cutting-edge design, technology and storytelling. Now more than ever, it feels like the right time to return to the Grid.”
Jesse Wigutow AND Jack Thorne wrote the screenplay. The film arrives in theaters on October 10, 2025.
