Warner Bros. is looking for the cast Marco Rylance as Dumbledore in his next outing Harry Potter Streaming series. Rylance is a great choice for the role, but the deal isn’t done.
According to Variety, Rylance is their first choice, but Warner Bros. Television has not yet started negotiations with the actor, but the studio has contacted him to gauge his interest and availability.
When asked for comment on the casting, an HBO representative said, “We appreciate that such a high-profile series sparks a lot of rumors and speculation. As we progress through pre-production, we will only confirm details when we finalize deals.
HBO is currently looking for a new trio of young actors to play the iconic roles of Harry Potter, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger. A few months ago they launched an open casting call for children from the UK and Ireland to audition for the leads.
It will be interesting to see how the cast of this fantasy series comes together. But it would be nice to see Rylance take on the role of Dumbledore.
