STAR TREK veteran Jeri Ryan turned down a Seven of Nine series

Star Trek veteran Jeri Ryan recently revealed that he had the opportunity to have one of his own Star Trek series that would focus on his character Seven of Nine.

The actress shared the news during a panel at Spacecon in San Antonio, Texas, where she said she was also given a formal talk.

The actress explained: “There has been talk. And there was an idea that was actually pitched to me after Picard ended, which was not the Legacy show that I know fans are asking for, that I want to do.

“But it just wasn’t me… It didn’t feel like the right thing… But it was talked about. And if there’s one thing I’ve learned from this franchise it’s: never say never. You never know.”

I would have loved a Seven of Nine series! It’s a shame we won’t see the show come to fruition. But obviously there was something about this that just didn’t sit right with her for some reason.

Seven of Nine is a complex and iconic character of the Star Trek franchising. It was presented for the first time Star Trek: Traveler. Originally named Annika Hansen, she was assimilated by the Borg as a child and became a Borg drone, designated “Seven of Nine, Tertiary Adjunct of Unimatrix Zero One”.

After his rescue by the crew of the USS VoyagerCaptain Janeway helps her regain her individuality and humanity, although Seven retains her Borg implants and much of her mechanical precision. This unique background makes her an invaluable member of the crew, especially as she combines the logical ruthlessness of the Borg with the compassion she learns from her human companions.

Seven’s journey centers on her struggle to reconcile her Borg identity with her rediscovered humanity, often challenging her to learn the nuances of emotion, individuality, and autonomy.

He later returns as a recurring character in Star Trek: Picardwhere he embraces his role as a defender of those who cannot protect themselves, having forged a hybrid identity that reflects both his Borg and human experiences.

Would you like to see a Seven of Nine spin-off series?
